WHO IS JUST PAUL?

Welcome to my website, a collaborative resource for educators, coordinators, and school leaders who are passionate about best practices in education. Here, we explore key principles of teaching and learning, not only in mathematics but across various disciplines, with the goal of making education effective and engaging for all.
This platform is not about presenting the only way to do things, but rather one approach among many. School contexts are vastly different, and we need to respect and embrace those differences. My aim is to foster collaboration, share practical insights, and support educators in interpreting educational documentation in ways that make sense for their unique environments. Together, we delve into how the purpose of a school, its culture, and its environment drive learning forward—not just for students but for everyone in the learning community.

My hope is to inspire others to create their own just(name), to help their own learning communities cut through the clutter generated by all the noise in the world around us.
If my work has sparked ideas or made a difference, consider buying me a coffee to support more exciting projects. ☕ Together, we can reimagine education and make learning meaningful for everyone! 🙌

I am an IB Coordinator and math teacher at an IB World School in Norway, with over 20 years of experience in international education. My work focuses on making math accessible and engaging through relational teaching and fostering a positive math culture.

I am a board representative for the Norwegian IB Schools Association, advocating for IB students in Norway and supporting schools seeking IB authorization. I also manage and organise job-alike events for over 40 IB schools nationwide.

I lead workshops globally, sharing practical strategies for student-centred math instruction. In 2024, the Norwegian Ministry of Education and the Mathematics Institute of Norway honoured me for my contributions to math teaching.

I am also an IB Authorization Visit Team Member and IB Candidate School Consultant, supporting schools in their journey to become IB authorised.

I am currently working on developing AI policies for schools, focusing on the ethical use of artificial intelligence across diverse educational contexts. I present my insights at regional and international EdTech conferences, both virtually and in person, engaging educators in discussions about the future of education. I was honoured with a Holmbo award by the Norwegian government in 2024.

I am passionate about addressing the challenges of modern education and collaborating to create innovative solutions that provide high-quality learning experiences for all—whether through traditional pedagogy or andragogy (adult learning).

I am excited to share my new book, Cutting Through the Clutter: A Teacher’s Guide to the Age of AI . This work explores the ethical and practical integration of AI in education, offering actionable strategies to support teachers navigating this transformative era. It forms part of the series of cutting through the clutter that is available now on Amazon

Designed for educators passionate about innovation, the book empowers you to embrace AI thoughtfully and enhance learning experiences for all students. I look forward to continuing the conversation about AI and education with you!
